The route includes a mixture of the Cape Peninsula, scenic mountain roads, the Cape winelands, the Klein Karoo, historic towns, the southern coastline, and a spectacular ride back towards Cape Town. This gives you considerable variety while staying on suitable tarred roads and minimise unnecessary high-traffic riding.
The tour is structured around approximately 10 cycling days, with two rest days and 2 days for arrival/departure, depending on preferred cycling distances.
It will be 4 days of about 100-120 km per day and other days between 70-95 km. Elevations will be 800-1500 for 7 days.
We arrange the principal logistics, including:
• 4-star accommodation on a bed-and-breakfast basis
• Daily hotel-to-hotel luggage transfers
• Airport transfers
• Transport and storage of your bicycle
•GPX/GPS routes and cycling notes
• Point-to-point cycling stages where practical
• Local assistance in the event of any unforeseen issues
We ensure that the daily stages are designed around the quality and safety of the cycling roads rather than simply achieving a particular kilometre target. We incorporate some worthwhile climbs while retaining the scenic character of the journey.
We have selected a panel of guesthouses/hotels for your trip. Your booking will be made according to availability.
